Bread Between Us – بيناتنا خبز aims to uncover the local traditions and the concealed routes of bread knowledge across the diverse territories of the Arabian Peninsula.

Positioned as an “archeology of memory,” our objective is to delve into the rich oral traditions attached to breadmaking practices, treating bread as a shared knowledge that binds various territories. Through bread and the oral traditions attached to it (proverbs, stories, songs), the project seeks to unearth a hidden journey, linked to the motion of pilgrimage, nomadic movement, and the caravan routes that once traversed the Arabian Peninsula and the Muslim world at large creating a tangible itinerary that echoes the cultural significance of bread across the local landscapes.
